This morning, we received word that one of our West Unit residents were sent to the hospital, and tested positive for COVID-19. We immediately started our COVID-19 Mitigation Plan in response. We have since tested the roommate of the positive resident, and their test was negative. The roommate will be placed on YELLOW ZONE isolation for 14 days, and testing will occur on days 1, 3, and 5. If all test results are negative, they will be able to come off isolation after the 14 days. The resident who is positive for COVID-19, once ready to return to the facility, will be placed in a private room on RED ZONE isolation for the remaining days of their infection. No other residents on west are showing signs and/or symptoms of COVID-19, and no staff were considered within close contact. West unit staff will wear surgical masks for the duration of the isolation periods. We will monitor all residents and staff for COVID-19 symptoms, and if our status is to change, we will be reaching out to everyone via ROBO calls.
